Crufts 08

On Sunday 9th March 2008 on Best in Show day at Crufts the Native Dog Breeds Trust organised a parade of endangered breeds. All of the handlers taking part were dressed as chararcters connected with their breed as follows.

Miniature Bull Terrier - Bill Sykes and Bullseye.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi - 19th century cattle farmers wife

Clumber Spaniel - the Duke of Newcastle

Dandie Dinmont - Mr Dandie Dinmont

English Toy Terrier - Matchstick man and Matchstick dog

Field Spaniel - Mr George Mortimer-Smith and Lady Companion

Glen of Imaal - Leprechauns

Irish Red & White Setter - Lord and Lady Rossmore

Irish Terriers - Tim the Railway collecting box dog & Queen Victoria

Irish Water Spaniels - Irish Wildfowler

Kerry Blue Terriers - 19th Century Irish Gamekeeper

Lakeland Terriers - Beatrix Potter and a Cumbrian Hill Huntsman

Lancashire Heeler - Edwardian Lancashire Cattle Farmer

Manchester Terrier - Black Jack

Norwich Terrier - Charles "Doggy" Lawrence & Daughter

Otterhounds - Master of the Pembroke and Carmarthen Otterhounds

Sealyham Terriers - Capt Edwards & Mrs Edwards

Skye Terrier - Bobby and John Grey

Sussex Spaniels - 19th Century Lady Sportsman

Smooth Fox Terrier - Tintin and Captain Haddock and "Snowy"

Smooth Collie -  WW1 Soldier and Army Messenger and Dispatch Carrier Dog
