The Irish Water Spaniel is the tallest of all the spaniels. His coat is unusual in the fact that his entire body is covered in tight ringlets except for his muzzle, the front of his neck and the greater portion of his tail. He makes a loveable family dog as he has such an affectionate disposition. As his name suggest he adores water and delights in going for a good swim whenever he gets the opportunity. A fairly energetic dog he does enjoy long walks with his owner. He obviously has the poodle in his background, which is where he gets his keen intelligence from.
